Acceptable use.
The simple rules for using this website — what you’re welcome to do, what you must not do, and how to report a security concern if you find one.
Acceptable use policy
This acceptable use policy sets out the terms on which you may use the Bishop Consultancy UK Ltd website at https://bishop-consultancy.co.uk. By using the site you agree to these terms. They sit alongside our privacy notice, which explains how we handle any personal data you give us.
About this policy
This is a marketing and information website for Bishop Consultancy UK Ltd, an independent cyber security and IT consultancy based in Ipswich, UK. The policy covers your use of the website itself. It does not govern any consultancy services we may go on to provide — those are covered by a separate agreement we would put in place with you directly.
Using this website
You are welcome to browse the site, and to read, download and print pages for your own information or to evaluate our services. You may share links to our pages freely. Beyond that, the content remains ours (see intellectual property below).
Things you must not do
To keep the site secure and available for everyone, you must not:
- use the site for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose, or in breach of any applicable law or regulation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server it runs on, or any connected system or network — including probing, scanning or testing for vulnerabilities except as described under reporting a security issue;
- introduce or attempt to introduce any malware, or any other malicious or technologically harmful material;
- interfere with, damage or disrupt the site or place an unreasonable load on it, including via denial-of-service activity;
- scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or data from the site without our prior written permission, or use automated means in a way that degrades the service for others;
- misuse the contact form (see below), or impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
- copy, reproduce or republish our content other than as permitted above.
Using our contact form
When you get in touch through the contact form, please give us accurate information so that we can respond properly. You must not use the form to send spam, advertising, abusive content, or anything unlawful or malicious. We record limited technical data with each submission to help prevent abuse — this is explained in our privacy notice.
Reporting a security issue
We are a cyber security practice, and we welcome reports of genuine security problems on this website. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, please email us at enquiries@bishop-consultancy.co.uk with enough detail for us to reproduce it. Please give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and fix the issue before disclosing it publicly.
Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, all content on this site — text, page design, graphics, and the Bishop Consultancy name and logo — belongs to Bishop Consultancy UK Ltd or is used under licence, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. The “Cyber Essentials” mark and certification badge belong to their respective owners and are used to reflect our certification. You may use our content only as set out in using this website; all other rights are reserved.
Linking to and from this site
You may link to our pages provided you do so fairly and lawfully, and in a way that does not damage our reputation or suggest any association or endorsement that does not exist. You must not frame the site on another website. We may withdraw permission to link at any time. Where the site links out to third-party websites — including our sister site for awareness training and phishing simulation — those sites are outside our control and we are not responsible for their content.
Availability and changes
We provide this website free of charge and on an “as is” basis. We do not guarantee that it will always be available or uninterrupted, and we may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of it without notice. We take reasonable care to keep the information on the site accurate and up to date, but it is provided for general information only and does not constitute advice you should rely on without speaking to us.
If you breach this policy
If we believe you have breached this policy, we may take any action we consider appropriate — including restricting or blocking your access to the site, and, where the conduct may be unlawful, reporting it to the relevant authorities or cooperating with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
